Meet Dorothy Brown, wife of former NBA player and sportscaster James Brown. Dorothy and James reside outside of Washington, D.C. in Bethesda, Maryland. They have one daughter, Katrina. On January 12, 2008, they became grandparents when their daughter had her first child.
Dorothy and James are heavily involved in their local church. James is a youth minister and Dorothy is the co-director of the youth ministry at the church.
James Brown graduated from Harvard with a degree in American Government. James was also a standout basketball player for Harvard. He was selected as a fourth-round draft pick by the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and a seventh-round pick by the Denver Nuggets. In 1996, Brown was inducted into the Harvard Hall of Fame.
Currently, James is a sports announcer known for being the host of the FOX network’s NFL pregame show Fox NFL Sunday. Beginning with the 2006 NFL season, Brown hosted The NFL Today on CBS, and returned to play-by-play of CBS coverage of NCAA basketball, along with co-hosting the Saturday Early Show.
Also, James is the co-founder and principal of the Brown Technology Group, a certified minority owned and operated information technology company, and is a founding partner of the Washington Nationals.
