3. Toya and Liz, I have got to object. Cmon my sistah’s it sounds like you believe the black man is an entitlement to you. Clearly all of the brothers dating and marrying outside of the race don’t see things the same way. If you are really interested in attracting and keeping a bruh, then you have got to be the woman he wants. All women are attractive so you are competing with all women. Unfortunately, not every woman is interested in being the woman that a man needs.

4. Why should he have to date a black woman in the first place? Does it really matter what race he dates, If he is more attracted to a white woman then soo be it, what ever makes this guy happy then good for him.

5. But Stephanie it defeats the purpose if the person has internalized racism so much that he know longer sees him or those that look like him attractive. I can’t say that’s the case for him, I don’t know. But the trend of successful black men having “preferences” for non-black partners is not a coincidence. People should be able to marry who they want but we need to be able to think critically about why these decisions are being made and how racism (even internalized racism) shapes them.
