Meet Sheryl Watkins Wilbon, wife of ESPN analyst and sportwriter Michael Wilbon. Sheryl and Michael married in 2001. The couple currently lives in Bethesda, Maryland, but he also has a home in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The couple had their first child, Matthew Raymond Wilbon, via surrogate on March 26, 2008.
Sheryl Wilbon, a D.C. native, has an undergraduate degree in Foreign Affairs & Rhetoric and Communications from the University of Virginia and a law degree from Duke in 1992.
In the past, Sheryl clerked for Justice Leroy Hassell (Government, ’77) on the Virginia Supreme Court, worked on Capitol Hill,and launched a public relations career. Currently, Sheryl has a full time job in taking care of their son and household so Michael can maintain his busy travel schedule from games to TV studios, from DC to New York to Scottsdale.
Michael Wilbon is currently a columnist for The Washington Post, an ESPN analyst and has co-hosted Pardon the Interruption on ESPN with former Post writer Tony Kornheiser since 2001. Wilbon graduated from St. Ignatius College Preparatory School in 1976 and received his journalism degree in 1980 from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Michael Wilbon suffered a mild heart attack on January 27, 2008. After complaining of chest pains, he was taken to a Scottsdale hospital where doctors performed an angioplasty.
His name is Michael Wilbon and you incorrectly identified him as Tony. His cohost on the PTI Show is Tony Kornheiser.
