TNT’s David Aldridge spent some time with former NBA star turned assistant coach Brian Shaw as he tells his personal story of his painful journey through family tragedy and triumph to possibly obtaining one of sport’s most highly recognized coaching positions.

In July 1993, both of Shaw’s parents and his sister were killed in an auto accident in Nevada. His sister’s daughter survived the crash and Shaw, with help from his wife Nikki and aunt, helped raise his niece.

According to Forbes, rapper turned entrepreneur Jay-Z has managed to turn his artistic music success into a financial fortune valued at up to $450 million dollars. Jay-Z’s  business ventures are described in a new book by Forbes writer Zack O’Malley Greenburg, entitled “Empire State of Mind: How Jay-Z Went from Street Corner to Corner Office.”

In 2010, Jay Z earned $63 million, more than all but seven CEOs of public companies, writes Greenburg. While the money came primarily from concert touring, Jay-Z has a business interests ranging from music to nightclubs, from restaurants to apparel, from sneakers to a chunk of the NBA New Jersey Nets.
