R&B diva Beyonce performed her new single, “Run the World (Girls),” for the first time on network television at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards last night.
While Beyonce performed on the stage, virtual duplicates of Queen Bey danced behind her until 100 back-up dancers emerged to rock collectively to the girl-power anthem.
After the incredible performance, Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles and nephew Juelz, presented her with the Billboard Millenium Award. Beyonce thanked her parents, Destiny Child’s Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and even former members of the original group, LaToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson. She ended her speech with a shout out to her husband rapper Jay-Z. Bey shouts, “I love me some Jay-Z!”
