Kim Kardashian confirmed Monday afternoon that she was divorcing her husband of 72 days Kris Humphries. Despite having hoped the marriage would last “forever,” the 31-year-old reality star filed for divorce on the grounds of “irreconcilable differences.”
Kardashian released a statement through her publicist confirming the split.
Kim says:
“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage,” Kim said. “I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”
Humphries, taken by surprise, put out a statement through his representative saying: “I love my wife and I am devastated to learn she filed for divorce.”
