During a guest appearance on “The Daily Show” Monday night, “Star Wars” movie creator George Lucas said that Hollywood refused to back his new film, “Red Tails,” because of its all black cast.
“It’s because it’s an all-black movie. There’s no major white roles in it at all. I showed it to all of them and they said no. We don’t know how to market a movie like this.” Lucas told Stewart.
“Red Tails” is a movie based on the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of historic black pilots who fought in the United States’ segregated army during World War II.
