Legendary poet/author Maya Angelou sat down with rapper/actor Common to talk about the meaning and use of the N-word.
The two looked back at a performance Angelou gave in which her character discussed the use of the word, even as a “term of affection.” Common told Angelou what the word meant to him growing up in Chicago.
