Former NBA star Jayson Williams sat down with Fox 5 news reporter Lisa Evers for his first exclusive one-one-interview since being released from Rikers Island prison nearly 2 weeks ago.
The former New Jersey Nets star said he lost his way with alcohol for a long time, but now he’s a changed sober man.
Williams served an 8-month sentence for drunken driving in Manhattan, an errant night that concluded with him hitting a tree. He had previously served an 18-month sentence in New Jersey for assault and tampering with a witness and evidence in the 2002 killing of a limousine driver Costas Christofi at Williams’ mansion.
The shooting of the limousine driver was followed by the death of Williams’ father, who in the wake of his son’s arrest and trial had a stroke and died. (Source)
