HipHollywood.com caught up with an emotional LL Cool J at the “St. Vincents Meals on Wheels” charity event in Beverly Hills on Friday night, where he remembered his good friend, Adam “MCA” Yauch, from the famous 1980’s rap group “The Beastie Boys.”

“It hurts, the Beastie Boys helped me break into the business. I wouldn’t be here, talking about the things we are doing today, if it wasn’t for them,” said the Rapper turned Actor.

Yauch, also known as MCA, passed away Friday morning after a long battle with cancer.

LL, who like the Beastie Boys, helped build the Def Jam dynasty, struggled to put into words how much he will miss Yauch.

“A lot of people think it’s about the fact that they were the first white rappers, but hey, those first white rappers bought into the business one of the biggest, greatest black rappers ever”.
