Since the alleged underage gay s*x scandal recently broke about Kevin Clash, the man behind the voice of the Elmo puppet, internet searches for “Kevin Clash’s ex-wife” have exploded off the charts.
We decided to do a little researching on Clash’s ex-wife, and here’s what we found.
Meet Genia Loving Clash (above), the high school sweetheart and ex-wife of Kevin Clash.

51-year-old Genia Loving Clash was born on April 4, 1961 in Aberdeen, Maryland, she graduated in 1979 from Aberdeen Senior High, and in 1981 she studied to be a nurse at the University of Maryland, in 1983 she graduated with a Bachelor degree in science from the University of Maryland School of Nursing, she also holds a Certificate in Meeting Planning from Goucher College.
Genia was Travel Health specialist at Passport Health and is currently an event planer at the Starlight corporation.
Genia got married to her husband Kevin who she had been dating since 1980 when Genia was 19 and was in her sophomore year in College, they welcomed their daughter Shannon Elise Clash on 1992, they got divorced on 2003.
When asked about her ex-husband Kevin being accused of allegedly engaging in underage s*x with a 23-year-old male model who says he was 16 at the time, Gina declined to comment, but a friend who answered the door at her Baltimore home told the New York Daily News that the former nurse is ‘surviving’.
As of today, TMZ.com is reporting that Kevin Clash agreed to pay his accuser $125,000 for him to recant his story.
Multiple sources tell TMZ … hours before Stephens recanted his underage s*x allegation, a settlement was struck between the two parties. Under the terms of the settlement, Clash agreed to pay Stephens 125k. But the settlement then provides the following:
“Stephens agrees that immediately upon execution of this Agreement, his counsel, Andreozzi & Associates, P.C., shall release the [following] statement … ‘He [Stephens] wants it to be known that his s*xual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship.'”
The settlement document goes on to say if Stephens is asked by anyone about his relationship with Clash, he must only repeat the statement [above] in the settlement that recants his story.
We’ve learned although Stephens signed the document, he continues to insist Clash had s*x with him when he was a minor and was pressured into signing the settlement.
One source privy to the negotiations tells TMZ … Stephens was crying during final negotiations and repeatedly insisted he didn’t want to sign.
