Theballerlife.com has learned that billionaire movie mogul George Lucas, 68, popped the big question to long time girlfriend, Mellody Hobson.
Hobson, 43, who is president of Ariel Investments LLC, a $3 billion investment firm based in Chicago, and the Star Wars director have been together for 7 years.
According to a source close to the couple, Lucas popped the question over the holidays:
“It happened just recently and they told close friends of their engagement while vacationing in St. Barts.”
The wedding is being planned for late spring and it’s a good guess it will be in either the San Francisco area or Chicago.
This is Hobson’s first marriage, and his second.
