Meet CNN legal analyst Sunny Hostin and her husband Dr. Emmanuel Hostin.
Sunny Hostin is a former federal prosecutor, attorney, multi-platform journalist, CNN legal analyst and anchor for ABC News.
Sunny joined CNN in September 2007 as the legal analyst for CNN’s American Morning, where she became known for her in-depth analysis of headline grabbing trials and legal issues. Sunny created, wrote and co-produced her popular weekly segment, Sunny’s Law, which answered viewer questions on various topics including homeowner’s rights when faced with foreclosure, how to survive a police encounter, and who gets the ring after a broken engagement.
Before joining CNN, Sunny could be seen on the Fox News Channel, where she was seen weekly on The O’Reilly Factor’s “Is It Legal?” segment, sparring with Megan Kelly and Bill O’Reilly on various provocative issues and high-profile cases.
Hostin was born and raised in New York City by her Puerto Rican mother, Rosa Beza and her African-American father, William Cummings. She speaks fluent Spanish.
Sunny received her undergraduate degree in Communications from Binghamton University and her law degree from Notre Dame Law School.
Sunny’s husband, Dr. Emmanuel Hostin, MD, is a Orthopedic Surgeon practicing in Long Island City, NY. He graduated in 1996 from the Johns Hopkins University School Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery.
Sunny and Emmanuel have two children together and reside in Purchase, New York.
