Who is Loretta Lynch?
Mrs. Lynch is the current United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, which includes most of New York City (Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island) as well as suburban Long Island.
Lynch was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on May 21st, 1959. Her mother was a school librarian and her father was a Baptist minister.
Lynch earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and American literature from Harvard College in 1981 and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1984.
Lynch and her husband, Stephen Hargrove, married in 2007. In her personal life, she uses her married name and styles herself as Loretta Lynch Hargrove. She has two stepchildren.
