Yesterday, Melissa Harris-Perry lost her cool with a guest on her show during a discussion on welfare based on a new book titled “Why Americans Hate Welfare” by Princeton professor Martin Gilens.

Harris-Perry’s guest, financial expert Monica Mehta, said that class mobility is “enabled by taking risk.”

Harris-Perry immediately interrupted her and said, “What is riskier than living poor in America? After slamming her hand on the table, Perry said she’s sick of the idea that being wealthy is risky, but living in poverty is not risky.

Later in the show, Harris-Perry offered an apology for losing her temper. Perry recently lost her new home in New Orleans to Hurricane Isaac.

Last night on MSNBC’s “The Ed Show,” Michael Eric Dyson debated The Grio.com’s Sophia Nelson on President Obama’s position on gay marriage.

PBS Talk show Tavis Smiley made an appearance on the “O’Reilly Factory” Thursday and called out Fox News for the network’s slow coverage of the Trayvon Martin case.

Bill O’Reilly and Smiley discussed debated the various current events including the recent assault of two white journalists in Virginia.

Smiley also talked about his new book titled, “The Rich And The Rest Of Us:A Poverty Manifesto.”

Tavis Smiley and Cornel West weigh in on the the Trayvon Martin shooting, gun control, racism and rocker Ted Nugents’ recent controversial comments about President Obama.

During a recent segment of “Erin Burnett Out Front,” CNN’s Roland Martin called out Rev. C.L. Bryant over his criticism of Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson in the Trayvon Martin Case.
