Just days after releasing his new movie “Good Deeds,” movie mogul Tyler Perry just did one of his own, by donating $98,000 to help a protesting Chicago pastor tear down an old drug motel and replace it with a community center.

CBS NEWS’ Michelle Miller reports:

“After 94 days in the rain, snow, and cold, Pastor Corey Brooks has come down from atop an abandoned motel he called a magnet for drugs and prostitution on Chicago’s south side. Michelle Miller reports the vigil ended after movie mogul Tyler Perry pledged $98,000 to raze the motel and build a community center.”

After winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress at the 2012 Academy Awards last night, actress Octavia Spencer got choked up and cried while giving her acceptance speech.

Singer John Legend and his model fiancee Chrissy Teigen made an appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” and talked about a range of subjects.

When asked about Chris Brown’s and Rihanna’s recent music collaborations, John said: “I don’t have any thoughts about it.”

However, John’s fiancee Chrissy said:

Actress Kim Fields stopped by “Good Day Atlanta” recently to talk about her new film, “A Cross to Bear,” which it airs on GMC TV on Saturday, February 18th at 7, 9 & 11 p.m.

Associated Press reports:

“Just hours after he prematurely left the funeral of his ex-wife, Whitney Houston, saying he had been asked to move repeatedly and didn’t want to make a scene, Bobby Brown performed with New Edition in Connecticut Saturday night.”
