2011 NBA Champion Deshawn Stevenson Denies Public Intoxication Allegation!

Just days after winning the 2011 NBA Championship, Dallas Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson got arrested this past Tuesday night for public intoxication. Irving police say they found Stevenson wandering and disoriented in an apartment complex.

Police say he failed a field sobriety test, and based on those results and Stevenson telling them ‘he did not know where he was,” he was arrested for public intoxication.

However, Stevenson denies the police account.

“They just put me in handcuffs for no reason,” Stevenson said. “A lot of people get stereotyped. If you see a person like me walking down the street — not in my suit attire — in my average attire, it kind of looks suspect,” he said.
