Serena Williams cried tears of joy after winning her opening round at the 2001 Wimbledon, following a year out with health and injury problems.
“I usually don’t cry but it’s just been so hard,” Serena said. ’It definitely was so emotional for me because throughout the last 12 months, I’ve been through a lot of things that’s not normal, things you guys don’t even know about,’ added Wiiliams.
Williams’ past health problems over the last year include: hospitalizations, suffering depression, cuts from glass on both feet, blood clots in her lungs and being diagnosed with pulmonary embolism and more.
