In an interview with Oprah Winfrey set to air Monday, May 2nd, 2011, President Obama addressed the release of his long form birth certificate just hours after the White House disclosed the document.
“Why did you wait so long, though?” Oprah asked the president about the timing of the release of his birth records. President Obama responded, “So we can’t be distracted by sideshows and carnival barker.”
The President told Oprah that while he was dealing with the budget debate, “the biggest news was this birth certificate thing.” President Obama also said he wanted to put the “silliness” to rest.
