During an episode on The “Ellen Show” last week, Ellen suprised an audience member (Jodi) with a special marriage proposal from her boyfriend (Jacob). Unfortunately, it did not go too well when Jodi turned down Jacob’s proposal live on the show.

According to the “Daily Mail,” the marriage proposal turned out to be one big hoax.
The “Daily Mail” reports:
“It turns out, thankfully, that the proposal was a hoax, fooling millions after the unfortunate news exploded on Twitter with thousands sympathising over poor Jacob’s bad luck.
According to Toofab.com, the elaborate ploy was simply a novel, if a little off-subject, way of promoting Ellen’s new ’12 days of Giveaways’ Holidays segment.
And, the site says, the scorned love interest was none other than one of Ellen’s production team, real name Ross, who appeared in a similar sketch last year.”
