Melanie Amaro, 19, won the FOX singing competition “The X Factor” on Thursday night, earning a $5 million dollar contract from Simon Cowell’s Sony Music-owned record label “SyCo” and a starring role in a new commercial from the show sponsor Pepsi.
After being declared the winner, an emotional Amaro dropped to her knees in prayer and wept with joy.
After a public vote, Amaro beat out Josh Krajcik, who finished second, followed by Chris Rene who came in third.
