Actress and activist Gabrielle Union, a rape survivor, stopped by the studio of MSNBC’s “NOW with Alex Wagner” earlier today to discuss Republican Congressman Todd Akin’s ignorant and insensitive comments on rape.
Akin, a very extreme Republican conservative, opposes abortion even in cases of rape or incest. Akin told an interviewer over the weekend that in cases of “legitimate rape,” women won’t get pregnant.
Union said:
“Todd Akin…I was shocked. I would say saddened except that it pissed me off.”
