The “Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin chatted with HLN’s “Morning Express” recently about her new album titled, “The Great Diva Classics,” which hit store shelves last week. On the album, Aretha takes 10 iconic songs from other artist and adds her own touch to the classic hits.
According to Franklin, the chairman of RCA Records Clive Davis, came to her with the concept along with the list of songs she’s singing on the album. Franklin approved all the songs because many of them she bought the CDs or the single records. Among her ‘Diva Classic’ choices include Etta James’ “At Last”, Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” and Alicia Keys’ “No One.”
