Former Oklahoma Thunder assistant coach and now New Orleans Pelicans head coach Monty sat down with ESPN’s Hannah Storm and opened up about how he’s coping after losing his wife Ingrid Williams to a horrific car crash earlier this year.
During the interview, Williams revealed that he still texts his late wife Ingrid as part of his daily routine.

Ingrid Williams was a 1993 Notre Dame graduate. The couple has five kids.
Monty and Ingrid met while they were students at Notre Dame. When Monty developed a heart condition and it was ruled that he could not play basketball anymore, it was Ingrid who got him through those difficult times. Eventually Monty was allowed back on the court for the Irish and went on to have a great college and NBA career.
