Actress Ellen Pompeo made a guest appearance on “The View” last week and talked about a range of topics. During the interview, Whoopi Goldberg asked Ellen if she got any angry fan mail because her character on the TV series “Grey’s Anatomy” is adopting a black baby. Pompeo responded, “No one can say anything to me because I have a baby of color.” Sherri Shepherd quickly chimed in letting the audience know that Ellen is married to a black man and has a baby of color in real life. Also, Pompeo gave her opinion on the NAACP Image Awards and black universities.

Pompeo married record producer Chris Ivery on Friday, November 9, 2007. The two met in 2003 through a mutual friend. She gave birth to her first child – a daughter named Stella Luna, on September 15, 2009.
