In a recent exclusive interview, projected first round NFL draft pick, Manti Te’o, sat down with ESPN yesterday to address the infamous dead girlfriend hoax.
In case you haven’t heard, Manti is the college football player/Heisman Trophy candidate, whose story gained national attention after details emerged about the death of his grandmother and girlfriend on the same day.
However, popular sports website Deadspin.com revealed earlier this week that the existence and death of his alleged girlfriend had been faked.
After the story broke, Te’o released a public statement claiming to have been the victim of a hoax that lured him into an online relationship with a nonexistent woman.
During the interview with ESPN, Te’o maintains he was never involved in creating the dead girlfriend hoax.
