Brandon met Melissa while she was attending college and he was playing for the NBA New Orleans Hornets. The couple has one child together.
Melissa is a graduate of Southern University.
Brandon Bass currently plays for the Orlando Magic of the NBA. Bass was selected by the Hornets in the 2nd round (33rd overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft.
On July 26, 2007, Bass agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks, but terms of the deal were not disclosed. He is signed through the 2008-09 season with a $1.59 million contract.
On July 10, 2009, Bass signed a contract with the Orlando Magic. The deal is believed to be worth $18 million for four years.
