CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. – A Clayton County man is saying ‘thanks, but no thanks’ to an offer to play in the National Football League. Keith Fitzhugh, 24, told the New York Jets he’d rather keep his stable job on the railroad, and he says he has no regrets.
Three months ago, Fitzhugh started working for Norfolk Southern as a train conductor– a job that allows him to stay in Georgia and help his parents. He says the gig comes with good benefits and a good salary, and most importantly stability in a tough job market.
