Meet Shantrell Moore Williams, wife of NFL star Tramon Williams.
Shantrell on how they met:
“We met through my friend Tamika. We were in a cafeteria at school and my friend Tamika was trying to tell me to go talk to him and I kept saying NO… if he wants to talk to me he will! Well… Tamika being Tamika…. went and got his phone and she put my number in it. She also put his number in my phone. As you probably guessed… we’ve been talking every since 🙂 Thanks Tamika!”
On July 24, 2008, Tramon popped the question to Shantrell.
Shantrell on the proposal:
“I really wasn’t expecting a proposal. He was at my house getting everything laid out and I surprised him when I came in the house (I got off early that day.) Glad I didn’t burst in the room, I would have ruined the surprise! But never the less I was on my way to bed that night and he came in and started a conversation about marriage. I kept dozing off because I was tired. He kept bothering me until it was midnight… he refused to let me go to sleep. As I finally tried to doze off he told me to hand him the remote. I heard him get out of the bed and crawl on the floor. I reached over to the side of the bed to get the remote and to my surprise he was on his knees and that’s when he popped the question! Of course I said yes. ”
The couple married on June 27, 2009 in Bossier City, Louisiana. They have a son, Tramon Jr, born in 2010.
Shantrell also was a star athlete. She played basketball at Louisiana Tech and earned 2006-2007 WAC player of the year honors. After graduating from college, she went on to play professional basketball in Poland for a year. Due to severe knee injury, Shantrell was forced to end her basketball career.
Tramon Williams currently plays for the NFL Green Bay Packers. Williams was signed by the Packers on November 29, 2006. In 2007, Tramon earned a roster spot with a solid preseason and went on to play in every contest, as well as both playoff games, with one start, rotating as a nickel and dime back, while posting 11 tackles, 1 interception, and 4 passes defensed. He also had a team-leading 30 kickoff returns for a 22.8 average, with 6 punt returns for a 19.7 average, a touchdown, with 7 special teams tackles.
Tramon Williams is currently preparing for this year’s 2011 Super Bowl game held in Dallas, Texas on February 6th,2011.
