They argued, Ellis said. He added, “Juanika had no problem putting me in my place when I needed to be put into place.”

The pair married on July 2010 at the at the Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church downtown. The reception was held in the Memphis Ballroom at the Peabody. They have a son, Monta Jr., and a daughter due in May 2011.

Monta credits Juanika as his unofficial life counselor for his personal growth. He  says Juanika tells him what he needs to hear, even if it’s not what he wants to hear. Juanika, a Memphis police officer, is six years older than Monta, who just turned 25 this year.

Peep the interview below of  Monta, Juanita and their son.

Monta Ellis currently plays for the Golden State Warriors of the NBA. Ellis entered the 2005 NBA Draft after graduating from Lanier High School in Jackson, Mississippi. The Warriors drafted him in the second round.

  1. @ Patricia Stop being a DOORMAT! Stop going along to get along then you will be able to get and KEEP a man. This is coming from a woman that’s been married for 15 years.

  2. Monta every man has experienced what you have done
and you kept on up with the woman
I just hope you two can get some anger management class involved in your relationship..I see her envious, jealous and using her age to get over on you…If your happy so be it who are we to judge..just concerned about domestic violence..your not even thirty and your trying hard as a man, father, to do the right thing.

Alot of women in the bay thought you were it for them even I..so caught up in your looks
