Check out this preview of a powerful new documentary titled, “Dark Girls,”
which is directed by Bill Duke and D. Channsin Berry. The documentary examines how African-American women and little girls view themselves when it comes down to skin color. The documentary takes a look at biases and attitudes, particularly in dark skinned women within the Black American culture.

The video preview shows several women talking about social issues, ranging from being picked on in school because of their darker skin color, to problems finding a mate.

  2. I understand how these girls feel. I’m 48yrs old drak skinned male. If this young think she have it bad. This how i felt when i was younger. I have heard it all. If it’s wasn’t for my mom telling me yopu’re pretty black baby. I just don’t know where i would be. Now, i’m not dark enough. Everyone want to be pro black now. I thank God for the way he made me the way i am. Be blessed.
