Documentary: “Dark Girls”- How African American Women & Girls View Their Skin Color

Check out this preview of a powerful new documentary titled, “Dark Girls,”
which is directed by Bill Duke and D. Channsin Berry. The documentary examines how African-American women and little girls view themselves when it comes down to skin color. The documentary takes a look at biases and attitudes, particularly in dark skinned women within the Black American culture.

  1. as a white man, i think that the darker a black woman is, the more beautiful she is! i married a woman that looks like alek week. i am the happiest man on earth.

  2. I understand how these girls feel. I’m 48yrs old drak skinned male. If this young think she have it bad. This how i felt when i was younger. I have heard it all. If it’s wasn’t for my mom telling me yopu’re pretty black baby. I just don’t know where i would be. Now, i’m not dark enough. Everyone want to be pro black now. I thank God for the way he made me the way i am. Be blessed.
