The NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers released a statement Sunday confirming that former Oklahoma University great and NFL Hall of Fame defensive end Lee Roy Selmon died at the age of 56.
Selmon suffered a major stroke Friday and was admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida soon after. He spent the last two days in the hospital.
A statement released on behalf of his wife, Claybra Selmon, said he died yesterday surrounded by family members.
