Met Victoria Lovallo Strong, wife of University of Louisville head coach Charlie strong. The couple married in 2003. They have two beautiful daughters together. Charlie also has a son from a previous relationship.

Charlie Strong currently serves as the head football coach for the University of Louisville Cardinals. In 1999, Strong joined the South Carolina Gamecocks as defensive coordinator, becoming the first African American coordinator in Southeastern Conference (SEC) history. He has previously held assistant coach and defensive coordinator positions with six different college football teams, most notably the University of Florida Gators.

In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel, before becoming the head football coach with Louisville, Strong expressed his belief that race played a large part in the reason that he hadn’t been offered a head coaching job up into that point. Strong’s wife Victoria also cited prospective employers’ discomfort with his interracial relationship.

Strong told the New York Times:

“I had always felt it would be a hindrance,” he says, “which is probably why we dated so long instead of marrying right away. I can’t worry about that,” he says. “Why should I not marry Victoria Lovallo , who I love, because of worrying what might happen to me, when I know I have her right now?”
