Theballerlife.com just received some very sad news. We just found out NFL star Chad Ochocino’s father recently passed away from a long fight with cancer.

The Patriot wide-receiver’s father, Syl Johnson, has passed away after a long bout with cancer. Johnson was a Blues and Soul singer in the late 70 & 80′s. He was recently embroiled in legal battles with Kanye West, the musician charged that West used a sample of his song, “The Joy” on Watch the Throne, and he was never paid for it.
Johnson is also the father of R&B songtress, Syleena Johnson, who, ironically, became a household name on Kanye’s “All Fall Down.”
Chad attended his father’s funeral this past Friday and will not play in today’s AFC Championship game.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Chad, Evelyn and his family.
