In cased you missed it, last night 1990s child actress, Maia Campbell, appeared on Iyanla Vanzant’s new OWN show, “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” and faced her demons by discussing her past drug addiction, being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, regaining the lost relationship with her 12-year-old daughter, the death of her mother and gaining control of her life.
In the ’90s, Maia Campbell starred in the hit sitcom In the House with LL Cool J and Debbie Allen. In 1998, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder after acting out on set. After having her daughter in 2000, Maia stopped taking her medication and lost custody of her. Maia then turned to drugs and was arrested multiple times. A viral video showing her looking disheveled and acting erratically also hit the Internet. Now two years sober, Iyanla asks Maia to clear up the misconceptions.
