Theballerlife.com has just received some more information on the the late NFL baller Jovan Belcher murder-suicide tragedy.

We learned that an unidentified friend of Belcher wrote in to the popular sports blog Deadspin.com today and provided some important information on why this tragedy might have happened.

The unidentified friend said that Belcher allegedly suffered from ‘short-term memory loss,’ alcohol, painkillers and recent blows to his head from the last football game.

Here’s a summary of what else Belcher’s friend said:

VIA THEGRIO.COM:

Jovan Belcher and girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, had been separated for over two weeks before the murder-suicide occurred.

The friend says that Belcher suffered from problems related to a “combination of alcohol, concussions, and prescription drugs” mixed with domestic issues. The friend reveals that Belcher drank heavily and on a nightly basis.

Belcher and Perkins were just beginning to reconcile over their split that stemmed from the care of their three-month-old daughter, Zoe.

In the email, Belcher’s friend wrote that after the Chiefs’ Nov. 18 game against the Bengals, the last game Belcher played in, Belcher ”was dazed and was suffering from short-term memory loss. He could not remember the events that had taken place prior to that game or what he had said to get Kasi [Kasandra Perkins] to return home.”

“If you review the footage of the Cincinnati game, he took a few hits to the head directly,” the friend wrote.

The reason the friend says he initially wrote in to Deadspin was to point out that the developing narrative that the Trey Songz concert that Perkins attended at Kansas City’s Midland Theater Friday night, returning home around 1 a.m. was not the only factor in the incident. The friend does acknowledge that the concert may have been a tipping point, but he believes that the relationship had been suffering for some time.

In the email, the friend goes on to allege Perkins as a “catalyst” to the entire ordeal as she had recently told Belcher she was going to contact a lawyer and “get as much money as possible.”

Additionally, he describes Belcher and Perkins relationship as “very young and immature,” which “combined with other factors, led to this tragedy.”

The friend also added, “Her friends are speaking to the media so, I only feel right providing his perspective to this situation. It had little, if anything, to do with one isolated argument.”
