Ex-NFL star quarterback Randall Cunningham’s 2-year-old son has died in what authorities called an apparent backyard hot tub accident.

The Clark County coroner’s office identified the child as Christian Cunningham, and said the cause of death was pending.

Las Vegas police officer Marcus Martin said the death appeared to have been an accidental drowning, but authorities were still investigating.

Randall Cunningham, 47, is an ordained minister and pastor of a church six blocks off Las Vegas Boulevard that he runs with his wife, Felicity (below). Christian Cunningham was the youngest of their four children.

Randall met his wife, Felicity De Jager Cunningham, a former ballet dancer, in 1990 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, where Felicity was performing and he was making a guest appearance as part of a Night of 100 Stars event.

Felicity de Jager, from South Africa, worked many year as a professional dancer at Arthur Mitchell’s Dance Theater of Harlem.

The couple married on May 8th, 1993.  After marrying Randall, Felicity retired from ballet and became dedicated to raising their four beautiful children. Besides her role at home, Felicity is Director of the Woman’s Ministry and Children’s Ministry at Remnant Ministries church International, a church founded and pastured by Cunnigham. She continues to pursue her love for dance through teaching and uses her gift of dance to minister to people at church and Christian events nation wide.

Randall Cunningham played 16 years in the NFL.  He played for teams: Philadelphia Eagles (1985–1995), Minnesota Vikings (1997–1999), Dallas Cowboys (2000), Baltimore Ravens (2001).
