Meet Silvia Lopez Castro, girlfriend of NBA star Pau Gasol. Sylvia met Pau while she was performing as a cheerleader at the 2009 Poland’s Euro basketball tournament, where Pau’s Spain national basketball team won the 2009 gold medal.
After dating for a year, Pau and Sylvia were first spotted together at the 2010 NBA All Star Weekend.The couple has been together for two years.
Sylvia graduated from the National Institute of Physical Education with a degree in Physical Education. Sylvia, a former gymnast trainer, works as a cheerleader for Spain’s Dream Cheers, who perform at many sports events including Pau’s former team FC Barcelona.
Pau Gasol currently plays for the NBA Los Angeles Lakers. Gasol was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2001 NBA Draft, but his rights were traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, with whom he won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award.
After seven seasons with the team, Gasol was traded to the Lakers on February 1, 2008. On December 24, 2009 Gasol signed a 3-year extension with the Lakers worth $64.7 million. In 2009 and 2010, Gasol won two NBA championships with the Lakers.
