Check out this inspiring story about a Boston couple named Laura and Nathan Scott who both just recently graduated from Harvard Medical school together.
This past Friday, the couple shared some beautiful photos of their graduation which has gone viral all over social media!
Laura, who is also a Life and Style blogger, posted their graduation pictures on her website along with the caption:
Hi all! This month has absolutely flown by – once we wrapped up classes, making sure we had everything set for graduation and then getting away for a little vacation (will share pics soon!) made the month go by in a flash! Yesterday came the day I feel like we’ve been waiting for since high school – we finally became doctors! After all the dreaming and doubting and working hard and ups and downs and a wedding and a baby (and another on the way), we finally became Harvard MDs!
Dr. Laura Scott, maiden name Laura Campbell, met her husband Nathan Scott while interviewing for medical school at Columbia University. The two coincidentally bumped into each other again after being accepted to Harvard Medical School. As their Harvard mediacal education started in 2010, so did their friendship. After being good friends for a few years, one of Nathan’s friends from out of town chastised him for not asking out Laura.
As a result, Nathan eventually asked his good friend Laura out. At first, the concept of dating took the two by surprise, because they had been experimenting with hooking each other up with other people in the past. However, the predestined transition from friendship to romance really took off when Nathan popped the big question Laura.
Nathan proposed on New Year’s Eve 2012, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Olivia, in September 2013. With hospital rotations and a new baby added to their agendas, a do-it-yourself wedding may have seemed impossible, but after attending her sister’s quinceanera in her hometown of Springfield last April, Laura was confident the couple could pull it off.
Nathan, 29, and Laura 26, originally planned for a farm wedding in Connecticut, but decided to shift to the city and have their wedding at one of their favorite restaurants, The Sinclair in Harvard Square. While juggling medical school,taking care of their 1-year-old daughter Olivia and trying to plan for their wedding, the doctor duo married on August 23, 2014.
