Check out this inspirational video of a 69-year-old grandmother who earned her 1st degree black belt in martial arts.
Good Day Atlanta’s Tacoma Perry reports:
When Annie Carter tells people she’s earned her black belt in martial arts, it raises a lot of eyebrows. That’s because she’s proof of the age-old adage, you can’t judge a book by its cover.
The grandmother started taking Choi Kwang Do about three years ago at a Cartersville dojo. She was initially bringing her grandchildren for lessons.
“I was watching them and I said instead of just sitting here, why don’t I try it,” said Carter.
And try it she did, soon earning different level belts. And recently, her 1st degree black belt.
And her belt includes other bragging rights, like losing 44 pounds, lowering her blood pressure and getting her diabetes under control. She now teaches classes and is on the dojo’s demo team. And she dares any criminal to mistake her for a little old lady.
