Meet Katrina Greer, wife of NFL star Jabari Greer.
Currently, Jabari and Katrina reside in New Orleans with their two young sons.
Greer, who has four children ages 1 to 9 (including two with his wife Katrina), became a single father at the age of 21.
In 2009, Jabari established a non-profit foundation, The Greer Campaign, to provide education and support for both single and married fathers in developing their parenting skills.[
In an interview Knoxnews.com, Greer said, “Families need the direction of a good father. The role of fathers has been so diminished. You see it on TV all the time, the dad who wants to go to the bar instead of going home to his family. It’s not a very positive image.”
Greer said he knows firsthand how hard raising a child can be, particularly for single dads or fathers with children born outside of marriage. Greer had his first two children in his 20s when he was not married, and he describes the time as one of the most isolating of his life.
“I was so lost,” said Greer, now 30. “I didn’t have the resources. I was looking for a place where I could go for guidance, but there wasn’t one.”
The couple shares custody of Greer’s two older children with their mother, who lives in Tennessee.
Jabari’s wife, Katrina, was crowded Miss Ontario years ago.
Here’s a video of Katrina making an appearance on “Life Today” talking about her loss of identity as a celebrity’s wife and explains how Christine Caine’s teachings helped her discover her true identity.
Jabari Greer currently plays cornerback for the NFL’s New Orleans Saints. He was signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2004. He played college football at Tennessee.
