Meet Gloria Etchison Cain, wife of Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain. Gloria and Herman met while both attending Morris Brown College In Atlanta. The couple married soon after Gloria graduated College in 1968.
“One month after she graduated from college, I swept her off her feet — we knew each other — and we got married a month later,” Cain said. They have two children and three grandchildren.
Gloria Cain is a homemaker and has worked as a teacher and a librarian in the past.
Herman Cain is a business executive, syndicated columnist, and radio host from Georgia. He is the former chairman and CEO of Godfather’s Pizza and a former chairman (Omaha Branch board 1989–91), deputy chairman (1992–94) and chairman (1995–96) of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
Before his business career, he worked as a mathematician in ballistics as a civilian employee of the United States Navy. Cain graduated from Morehouse College in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics. Also, he graduated from Purdue University in 1971 with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science.
On May 21,2011, Cain officially announced his candidacy for president.
